Hai Pham

Year in school: Sophomore
Major: Chemistry

Who are you? What can you tell us about yourself?
Hai Pham is a man. Truly a man among men. So manly, that when you look up the word “man” in the dictionary, his picture resides beside the word. With his manly ways that he developed while growing up in Chicago, he plans to, with the aid of his cultural partner, Reed Cabral (who isn’t nearly as manly), to teach others the cultural aspects of the performing arts of the Philippines. Hai is neither a lame dolphin or mustang, but a proud Indian, who has not become a proud tribe member under Chief Illiniwek. With the burning passion in his eyes, he plans to instill a sense of pride/love for the Filipino performing arts in the hearts of everyone.

Just who is this manly guy named “Hai”, you may ask. What more could I know about him? Well, for one thing, this man loves to eat. He also loves to play billiards and play card/board games. Above all, he loves to watch anime and read manga. However, this man has a flaw. He cannot swim, so please do no make him go into the deep end of the pool.

Why did you join PSA and what made you stay?

I joined PSA because my friend wanted to join PSA. I tagged along with him and fell in love with the people. I fell in love with performing with Barkada, and well, here I am, coordinating for the Barkada, the family that made me stay.

Why did you become an officer and what plans do you have in store for PSA next year?

I became an officer to help move PSA forward and have plenty of exciting dances ready for y’all !

What advice do you have for others?

Go for it. You don’t wanna look back and regret it. Experience it, or at least try it – don’t talk yourself out of it, you may never know if you truly don’t like it unless you try it. Respect others, this goes a looooong way. Take in the advice people give you to heart – they are giving you their time to tell you something they deem important to help YOU. Don’t be afraid of failure, it happens. Don’t be afraid to be you, you can’t be happy if you aren’t doing you.

I have a million other things to say but ehhh, I guess I’ll end it there.
Oh and school, yeah I guess that’s important…it goes without saying but that should be your priority!
