The American Red Cross is a humanitarian non-profit organization that provides relief to victims of disasters, and offers lifesaving training programs, such as CPR and first aid.

The Red Cross supplies approximately 40 percent of the nation’s blood supply (almost half!). Every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

Support the Red Cross today by volunteering at this blood drive event or by donating blood. 1 pint of blood can save up to 3 lives! (http://www.redcrossblood.org/)

PSA’s Fashion Show 2012 transcends the mere parade of clothing and models. “The Debut” performs the story of a mother and daughter at odds. Where does the motherland end and where does the expectations of US society begin?

Scenes: Runway, Formal, BizCaz, Dance, Cultural

Performed by PSA’s very own members, the debutante’s has her roots unfold before her because of these scenes. It is the 18th birthday of the daughter. For the mother, this is a time for her daughter to get in touch with Filipino tradition. Her incredulous daughter wants the opposite.

With initial resistance, the daughter is guided ever closer to the celebration of her culture, of herself.
Come watch a rich tale of how the next generation, who believes growing up in America differentiates them from their parents, is actually deeply connected to the traditions their parents uphold.

Celebrate with the debutante February 4th, 2012, 4 p.m. at Foellinger Auditorium!
