What is your favorite time of the PSA calendar?

AKA Spirit Weeks. During the two spirit weeks that happened last school year, I got to do so many things. We ate out together, we made forts, made a cover, baked brownies, made spam musubi, played volleyball, and attended PSA events together. I’m thankful for those weeks because I got so much closer to my Ates and Kuyas and all my sibasibs.

What is one piece of advice you would give to people reading this?

Go for it. No matter what it is, don’t be afraid to take risks because like me, things like joining an RSO, playing a sport, making friends, and trying something new- they can change you for the better.

Who are your biggest role models?

My role models are my parents. Cheesy, I know, but it’s true. My mom immigrated here by herself in 1993. She was all alone in the US, half a world away from her family (and my dad), but she got through it. Two years later, my mom went back to the Philippines and my parents got married. They came here to start a life, thinking about their kids in the future. My mom had a steady job, but my dad took random jobs here and there, working day and night to help support the two of us and to send money home. They worked hard for years and now people look up to them in their workplaces. My parents mean everything to me. Now I just want to give back to them because they gave up so much for us.

Do you have a favorite childhood story?

The Tortoise and the Hare. Why? Because I’m the tortoise. I move pretty slow and yes I eat extra slow, but that doesn’t mean anything. In the end, I put so much heart into everything I set my mind to, making people smile and laugh as much as I can, and to me, that’s winning.

Captain America or Iron Man?
