AKA Apple Picking

Where: MEET @ Illini Union Circle Drive, THEN go to Curtis Orchards

Are you excited about spending time with your new PSA family? Well come join us as we take a trip to Curtis Orchards right here in Champaign county! Admission to enter is free for everyone but a shared bag of apples will be $3 per person. We would like for all extra picked apples to be donated to Champaign’s Time Center Soup Kitchen. This will be the perfect time to bond with your new family AND supply fresh produce to those in need! Please meet at the Illini Union Circle Driveway promptly at 4pm. Questions? Get Down With Your Cultural Self

Tinikling! One of the many dances showcased by Cultural!

Who: Open to ANYONE!

When: Tuesday, September 28th.  7:00-9:00 PM

Where: University YMCA K1-K3 (1001 S. Wright St.)

Why: To introduce Cultural Awareness through Filipino Folk Dance and issues concerning Filipino/Filipino-American Society. We will have a guest speaker, Maria Muyot, a professor from UofI who has been a big part of PSA Cultural/Barkada through the years. We will also have audience participation in a few activities, video clips from previous BOTB competitions, and of course a couple dances to exhibit. We want to showcase who we are, what we do and to welcome any newcomers into Barkada this year.

Hayy PSA! Do you feel stumped with what to do with your college career or are just wondering where to go for the best pizza deals? If so, this event is for you!

Knowledge About’cha College will provide you the answers you need to make navigating through campus life that much easier – like finding the best places to eat and study – while learning more about the rich history of Filipino-Americans here on campus.

In addition to this, you’ll finally be able to be a part of the long anticipated AKA Program! You’ll be able to meet your new Ate’s, Kuya’s, and Ading’s for the first time. Your new family is waiting for you!

Do you miss the taste of good Pilipino home cookin’? We do too! And that’s why Filamthropy will be doing a Lumpia and Halo Halo sale for the Virlanie Foundation. Not only does it benefit the charity, feed your Pilipino hunger pangs, but it will also educate this campus on the history of these popular foods and the cultural influences that shapes our history! Wooo hooo! Sounds all encompassing! If you guys want to get more involved or simply have time to kill on the quad, please feel free to help us out!!
